People are already starting to slack off and drink what they want, eat what they want and take a break from training. They figure they can just go mad and they will make up for it come January 1st. They’ll start a new nutrition plan and train like crazy, to compensate for the extra calories they consumed over the holidays.
If you are already thinking about the best diet for 2019 though, you’re thinking about it ALL WRONG. Don’t be putting yourself in a restrictive mindset for 2019 ALREADY. The BEST diet to start in 2019 isn’t paleo or carnivore, vegan or keto. It’s not Weight Watchers or Atkins or Slimming World.
All of those diets may work for you, but they aren’t magic or special. So instead of putting yourself in a restrictive mindset and worrying about a NEW diet, think about making small changes to where you currently are.
Maybe eat what you’re already eating… just less. Make some small tweaks to what you are doing now.
Going into 2019, know how you are training, who you are training with, what foods you need to eat to meet specific goals… what gets measured gets managed. If you want to drop body fat, take a look at how many calories you need to eat to reach your goals. Then look at how you can eat those calories with foods you are already eating… things you have easy access to… things you already know how to prepare.
Weight loss that you MAINTAIN has more to do with making a lifestyle change than it does to your ability to stick with a diet for a few months. You want to make small changes to your eating that you can stick with…
Don’t set yourself up to go mad in December and then be completely restrictive in January… you are setting yourself up for failure. The way you set yourself up has to be a way that you think you could eat for the rest of your life…. Or you won’t be able to stick with it.
